I'm a huge fan of the Napa desk by Maverick. The desk is laminate with a wood edge, so you have the durability of a laminate worksurface with the natural beauty of wood. They pair nicely and honestly, the construction is really great (as evident in the desk's weight and drawer suspension). There are lots of colors to choose from (true with any Maverick series), as well as several pieces to add to optimize your room.
