Frequently asked Questions

Q. 1 What type of glass is the Clearly Superior Glass Chairmat made of?

Ans. The Glass Chairmat is made of ¼ inch thick tempered glass, prepared to our unique specifications (patent pending). Tempered glass is four to five times stronger than regular glass, able to withstand 24,000 pounds per square inch.

Q. 2 Does it come with a guarantee?

Ans. Every Glass Chairmat comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty against failure when used as a chair mat.

Q. 3 What sizes does the Glass Chairmat come in?

Ans. Clearly Superior Glass Chairmats are offered in several popular dimensions. The most popular sizes are 46” x 46”, 44” X 50” and 40” X 60”. Glass Chairmats can be custom manufactured in irregular shapes and sizes to fit your needs. Never an extra charge for custom sizes or extra delivery time!

Q. 4 Can you roll off and on the Glass Chairmat without breaking it?

Ans. Yes. The Classic Model comes with a polished flat edge and The Executive Model includes a 1” beveled edge for even easier rolling on and off.

Q. 5 Will the Glass Chairmat stay in place?

Ans. Our Glass Chairmat weighs almost three pounds per square foot. A 46” square Glass Chairmat weighs about 45 pounds and moves very little (if at all) in normal use.

Q. 6 Will a Glass Chairmat work on hardwood floors?

Ans. Yes. Glass Chairmats are an excellent choice to protect fine wood floors from scratching while allowing the beauty of the floor to show through.

Q. 7 My old vinyl chairmat has a “tongue” that goes under my desk. Can the Glass Chairmat be designed with a tongue?

Ans. Yes. But as long as your desk chair rollers do not “break” the plane of the front of your desk when your chair is in the normal working position, you won’t need a “tongue.” Many newer style desks allow the chair mat to slide under the desk. If you do need a tongue, it can be custom made for an additional cost.

Q. 8 Do I need to be careful of the total weight applied to the Glass Chairmat?

Ans. The Glass Chairmat can hold hundreds pounds, the equivalent of several people. We do not recommend placing furniture on the edge of the Glass Chairmat.

Q. 9 Will the Glass Chairmat scratch?

Ans. Glass Chairmats are very scratch resistant. It can scratch if grit like sand is tracked onto the mat and left under the chair rollers.

Q. 10 How long does it take to receive my Glass Chairmat?

Ans. From receipt of your order, your Glass Chairmat will be ready for delivery or shipping within 5-7 working days. Deliveries for areas outside of Southern California is normally handled by FedEx Ground and takes about 5 working days in transit.
